PrivateCite
PrivateCite is a local-first Windows application for searching document collections, analysing retrieved evidence and producing cited, reviewable reports.
It is designed for doctrine, specialist reports, technical references, internal research and other material that should remain under the user's control.

Why It Exists
PrivateCite was built for people and organisations whose documents cannot be sent to cloud AI services because of privacy, confidentiality, legal or operational constraints.
Rather than placing a general-purpose chat interface over a document collection, PrivateCite starts with retrieval: finding and ranking relevant passages, exposing them for review, and carrying direct references through analysis and report generation.
A Complete Local Research Workflow
PrivateCite brings together the less visible work required for a dependable document-research workflow:
- monitored project-level folders and incremental indexing
- document and image conversion, including local OCR
- sparse retrieval, ranking and passage selection
- source highlighting and references that open at the supporting evidence
- local model integration across consumer NVIDIA and AMD GPUs

Local by Default
OCR, PDF conversion, indexing, retrieval and the standard AI workflow run on the user's computer. PrivateCite does not include telemetry or crash reporting. The included local model is downloaded on first use; after that, the standard workflow can operate without sending documents to an external service.
PrivateCite can also connect to an OpenAI-compatible endpoint deliberately configured by the user, including a private model hosted elsewhere on the local network.
Custom Systems
PrivateCite is the ready-to-use product. Organisations with specialised document types, terminology, interfaces, reporting requirements or private infrastructure can engage Seerware to develop a tailored system using the same underlying search, retrieval and evidence-linking capabilities.
